Anvisa releases Ypê factory and products made from April 1st
The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) authorized this Friday (29) the resumption of production at the Ypê factory, in Amparo, in the interior of São Pauloafter concluding that the company corrected part of the sanitary flaws identified in previous inspections.
The decision allows Química Amparo, manufacturer of the brand, to resume operations immediately.
The release occurred after a new inspection carried out jointly by Anvisa, the São Paulo Health Surveillance Center, the Campinas Health Surveillance Group and the Amparo Health Surveillance.
What changed
According to Anvisa, the company presented a plan to meet 76 health requirements identified during an inspection carried out in April this year. Among the measures demanded were improvements in manufacturing processes, product tracking, quality control and monitoring of possible health risks.
“We verified that this Ypê factory already meets the necessary conditions to operate safely and provide products without health risks for the Brazilian population,” said the agency’s president, Leandro Safatle, in a statement.
The agency also informed that it will continue to monitor the corrective actions implemented by the company.
Released products
With the decision, Ypê products manufactured from April 1, 2026 onwards may once again be sold and used normally.
The release applies to items such as liquid laundry detergents, liquid dishwashing detergents and disinfectants produced after this date.
Hanging products
Despite the resumption of the factory, Some of the brand’s products remain prohibited for sale and use.
The restriction remains for all detergents, liquid laundry detergents and disinfectants with batches ending in “1”.
According to Anvisa, “these products must remain stored in a safe place and not be discarded. Their release will occur as the company presents reports from laboratories authorized by Anvisa.”
Understand the case
The crisis began on May 7, when Anvisa ordered the suspension of more than 100 batches of Ypê products after identifying flaws considered serious in the manufacturing processes at the Amparo unit.
The inspection found 76 sanitary irregularities and indicated a risk of microbiological contamination in products manufactured at the industrial plant.
The case gained even more attention because the company had already recorded, in November 2025, an episode of microbiological contamination involving the bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa in clothes washing line products.
What is bacteria
A Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a common bacteria in the environment and can be found in water, soil and humid places. In healthy people, it usually does not cause serious problems.
However, it can cause infections in people with low immunity, such as patients undergoing cancer treatment, transplant recipients, the elderly and people with diseases that affect the immune system.
Therefore, Anvisa classified the measures adopted as preventive to avoid risks to the population’s health.
Continuous surveillance
Even with the release of the factory, Anvisa informed that it will continue to monitor the company to verify that all required measures will be maintained permanently.
The agency also highlighted that products still suspended will only be able to return to the market after presenting new laboratory tests authorized by the agency.
